Excursion to the west of the island with a visit to Isle of Wight Pearl, a family owned business dedicated to the art of pearl jewellery, set in a stunning location with panoramic views across the English Channel. We continue to the iconic and unforgettable Needles landmark attraction with the multi-coloured sand cliffs of Alum Bay, before visiting the historic harbour town of Yarmouth.
Morning visit to Newport, the island’s principal town, which lies at the heart of the island, is the setting for a popular Tuesday market. It is also home to two elegant squares, the Museum of Island History, the Quay Arts Centre and a Roman villa. This afternoon, we visit one of the island’s prettiest villages, Godshill, which is awash with thatched cottages and a medieval church.
Enjoy a visit to Osborne House, the much-loved family home of Queen Victoria, with its opulent interiors, private apartments, a Victorian walled garden and extensive grounds with stunning views across the Solent. We continue via Ryde and its prominent position on the seafront, to the popular seaside resort of Sandown, with its long stretches of beach and Victorian pier.
Half day excursion to the historic town of Cowes, internationally famed for its sailing events, before enjoying a free afternoon to explore Shanklin, which really is the most charming of traditional seaside resorts with its glorious wide sandy beach set against a backdrop of sandstone cliffs.
Time for home.
