Cross the border into Wales to the Georgian market town of Monmouth, famous for its unique 13th century Monnow Bridge, before returning to England for a relaxing cruise along the River Wye from Symonds Yat West, which has long been one of the most spectacular stretches of the Wye Valley. If time allows, explore Coleford itself or enjoy bowling and golf facilities at your hotel.
Follow the twists and turns of the Wye Valley for a coffee break and photo opportunity at the magnificent ruins of Tintern Abbey, before continuing to the historic walled bored town of Chepstow, which is dominated by the oldest surviving stone castle in Britain, on the banks of the River Wye. Return in to the delightful Royal Forest of Dean for a relaxing round trip on the Dean Forest Railway.
Head in to Herefordshire to the historic cathedral city of Hereford. Whether its viewing the breath-taking countryside, strolling alongside the crystal clear waters of the River Wye, enjoying the vibrant centre of the High Town, taking in a show at the Courtyard Theatre or immersing yourself in our fantastic local history and historic architecture there really is something for everyone.
After breakfast it’s time to head for home.
