Say hello to Robbie Kirkbride, the new Public Safety Officer (PSO) for Grassington who started in the role yesterday (26th October). Robbie will be joining Craig Lyons, who is the PSO for Bentham, as part of the Public Safety Service pilot. The Public Safety Service brings together a number of organisations, currently including North Yorkshire Police, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service to help prevent vulnerability and reduce harm and to improve the safety and resilience of our communities Robbie joined North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service in February 2019 as an on-call firefighter based at Skipton. He then took up the role of Community Safety Officer for Craven in April 2020 where he showed a real can do attitude and a desire to help make Craven a safer place to live, work and visit. The main role of the Public Safety Officers is prevention and early intervention on behalf of public services whilst working as a part of the Craven Community Safety Hub.
